The Short Version
SparkPath stores all your data on your device. We don't have servers. We can't see your data. It's yours.
What Data Stays on Your Device
Everything: mood check-ins, journal entries, breathing sessions, photos, voice notes, and your safety plan. All data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's secure storage (SwiftData).
On-Device Intelligence
SparkPath uses Apple's NaturalLanguage framework to analyse sentiment, detect patterns, and generate prompts. All processing happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server.
Optional Features
- iCloud Sync - If enabled, your data syncs to your personal iCloud account using Apple's end-to-end encryption. We have no access to your iCloud data.
- Apple Health - If you grant permission, SparkPath reads sleep, heart rate variability, workouts, steps, and resting heart rate from Apple Health to show correlations with your mood. SparkPath writes mindful minutes from breathing sessions. This data is processed on your device and never leaves it.
- Location - If you grant permission, SparkPath tags journal entries with your approximate location to help you discover location-based mood patterns. Location data is stored only on your device.
- Camera & Photos - Used only to attach photos to journal entries. Photos are stored locally.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition - Used only for voice journaling. Audio is transcribed on-device and is not transmitted externally.
- Notifications - SparkPath sends gentle reminders for check-ins and breathing exercises. Maximum one notification per day.
What We Don't Do
- We don't require accounts or user registration
- We don't operate servers that store your data
- We don't collect analytics or usage data without consent
- We don't use advertising or tracking
- We don't sell data - we don't have any to sell
- We don't share data with third parties
Data Security
- Face ID / Touch ID app lock available
- iCloud backups encrypted with AES-256-GCM using keys stored in your iCloud Keychain
- GDPR-compliant data export (JSON, CSV, PDF)
Deleting Your Data
- Delete individual entries anytime within the app
- Delete everything: Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete All Data
- Uninstall the app to remove all local data
Children's Privacy
SparkPath is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
